New Mei Tai and Wrap

On my last trip to Texas to visit my mom she helped me make a Mei Tai baby carrier and a wrap style baby carrier. We started the Mei Tai using the pattern found here http://www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/Baby/man-tai.shtml but ended up tweaking it quite a bit. We made the body part way too big and had to trim it down. Since the fabric had a pretty border we trimmed the curve off and just left it straight. Joy likes this carrier when she's on my back. She prefers to be facing out when she's on the front.

For the wrap we used 6 yards of woven cotton. We cut it to 23'' wide and hemmed the edges. I like it but I think I might make another one out of a knit. I think it might be more comfortable if it's stretchy.

Joy is 4 months old!

Joy just turned 4 months and is growing like a weed! She had her checkup yesterday and she weighs 14lbs and is 26'' long. She was very good during her appointment this time and loved to kick on the paper on the exam table. She had her shots and immediatly stopped crying when I picked her up and even flashed a smile to the nurse. At least she doesn't hold a grudge. :)

She arrived 1/26 at 8:21pm. She weighed 6lbs 9ozs and was 19'' long.
